TRAINING INFORMATION

RATS training is divided into six parts, a Single Swim option, Development Squad, Squad 1, 2, 3 and 4. Each squad has a designated number of sessions available. The Single Swim Squad is for those members who only wish to swim one session per week. Sessions cannot be carried over from one week to the next. Training Facilities:

Most of the Club's training sessions and also the Club Championships take place at Totton Recreation Centre. We are the only swimming club to have use of this centre for our training sessions. RATS enjoy use of the superb, modern 5-lane 25metre pool as well as the Lifestyles Fitness Suite which boasts 52 workout stations and is equipped with the amazing FitLinxx System. The combination of the latest Life Fitness equipment and the FitLinxx system makes this gym the most technologically advanced in the Southampton area. Friday nights circuit training is held in the sports hall with all kinds of equipment used including benches, body bars, stretch cords, dumbbells, medicine balls and exercise balls to improve core body strength and flexibility, both essential to the sport of swimming.
